We will provide Social Media Marketing services to customers on mainly platform of Facebook, Orkut, Blogger, Scribd and other portals. How to charge for the services mainly per addition of a Friend, per marketing email or some other parameters. Kindly let me know.

Generally these services are done on an hourly basis. You set and hourly rate and charge for your time. Your rate will depend on your abilities and time in the marketplace. You could also develop flat rates for specific tasks such as sending an email or setting up a Facebook page.

Charging per friend would probably not be a good method for you or the customer.

For ongoing work you could consider a monthly contract.

Here is a Basic SEO Workflow that works

1. Initial project planning: Meet with an SEO expert. Pay them for their time. Have them map out when and how the SEO team should be involved in development.
2. Information architecture: Before you create your new site map, pick your keywords and verify that they matter. Organize your keywords into topics. Be sure your architecture reflects this. Remember, this isn’t just how search engines see your site. It’s how people look for you, too.
3. Tools selection: If you’re using a shopping cart, content management system or something else, make sure they support SEO. And no, I don’t mean "SEO friendly URLs" or other trite sales speak you’ll hear. I mean that these tools support unique title tags, correct semantic markup and won’t turn your web site into a pile of search-repellent spaghetti.
4. Content: Let the expert help you structure and write great copy that’ll also get the search engines’ attention.
5. Design: As your creative team gets to work, get your SEO expert to have a glance at the design. You don’t want to take, say, headings and turn them into graphical text. The SEO can work with the designers and help them find the best balance. She may know a thing or two about image replacement and other tricks that can help create a beautiful, search-friendly site, too.
6. Mockup: Sooo many companies ignore this. Have a truly great XHTML coder create templates for each unique page layout on your site. Then have your expert review for potential issues. This will make your developers’ lives much, much easier, because they won’t have to become HTML producers.
7. Development: Make sure the SEO team has access to the site-in-progress. They’ll watch for alarm bells like uneditable title tags, straying from the mockup or hacked-up code.
8. Pre-launch: The SEO expert can use whatever tools they have to ‘crawl’ your site, checking for busted links, search engine roadblocks, etc..
9. Pre-launch, 2: The expert will give you a set of 301 redirects to set up, so that critical link authority isn’t lost.
10. Launch: The SEO expert will join you in biting collective fingernails.
11. Post launch: Now the expert will start working on the stuff most people consider ‘search engine optimization’ – link building, tracking metrics, content optimization, strategy, etc..

Hope this helps.

Recently, i hired few big Link building companies. But i am not satisfied with their work. Companies seems to be big but the work is very poor. I think i should have to for small scale companies which can care more about our sites.. What do you say guys?

Is there any one who can help me in getting any small scale link building company who can show good serps. I have much work for them.

Thank you.

You should try building links yourself. It is time consuming but it is not that difficult. There are many companies. But sometimes a freelancer will make better work. What is your domain and target keywords? You can send me a PM or email with the details and I can refer it to some of my SEO friends to see if they can help you.

I’m planning on starting my own social media marketing company. However, I have been stuck for three days trying to come up with a name. I’ve gone through literally hundreds of words, and practically all of the good ones are taken. I need your help! I would like a name that is short (1-2 syllables preferred) meaningful, and that isn’t taken/has an open domain name. Not as easy as it sounds!
Thanks for any help you can give!

Every single combination of 5 letters is already taken. That makes it tough for a new business. There is hope since they are now selling new domains with new endings (not biz or net).

I worked for three weeks for a company called ooh la la in ft myers fl I was originally hired as aretail clerk for $9 an hour but than was asked if I could do a side project at the rate of $20 an hour. I was told I could work from home until the project wa completed and then I would work in the store.

I basically went over thier whole marketing strategy, website, seo, e-mail marketing, blog , discussed article writing basically i advised them on my project plan in detail on how they could save thousands of dollars annually, they stole my designs and ideas and hired someone else behind my back without paying me a dime. I turned down other jobs because i was under the assumption I was an employee on the clock these were significantly higher paying jobs as well, they made promises to me that i would be thier permament head of marketing department and filled my head with a bunch of fantasies that they never were going to go through with. They misled me and both owners played me like a fiddle one would tell me one thing while the other would act like they didnt know what was going on. They pretened like they didnt know about design and the web, in fact thier actually pretty saavy, they played me so good. I am furious and craigs list is filled with nothing but cheap scam artist trying to put one over on you.

I want to know what else I can legally do to these people as this is personal as they delibertly planned this out from day one and even after I had told them of my financial situation. I have a BA in information technology 11 years of web development experience a degree in graphic design and as a paralegal I was also trained on the job as a marketing professional, Seo expert and public relations. I am exstremely profecient in my field uo to date with all the latest trends.

I have been out of work not because I am not good at my job but because so many business are outsourcing thier It Projects oversees. I was applying for the retail job because thier are no web positions open in Bonita where i live. I was decieved and raped for my skills and these people were preying upon desperate workers. Thats why thier add for hire read as this " need a retail clerk with fashion since knowledge of twitter and facebook a plus’ why would a retail clerk need to know twitter or facebook?

that was so they could narrow down job canidates to web professionals such as myself and exploit them for there services. If i have typos its because I dont care just reply with advice thanks.

I beleive it is the same as hiring a plumber for retail and this getting him to divulge how he gets crap out of the toilet and this discard him without paying him an easy way for them to get free services without paying.

I reported them to the IRS, BBB, Rip off report, labor and wage division and the attorney generals office as well as osha and consumer and business protection advocate group.

I also sent them a bill and a disclosure of services that if they use my project plan any of my designs or ideas that I will take them to small claims court. If they dont pay me for the weeks of service in the sum of 5,000 im sending them to a collection agency.
Yes however I was hired as a hourly employee at first and tricked into developing a website – i never agreed to work as a sub contractor I have never been in a situation where I was hired as an employee but than later converted into marketing driector slash web developer as a hired employee, Freelance I usually ask for all the money upfront because clients want the world but never want to pay. i was caught off guard because i was hired a retail clerk not as a web designer I was never paid for either postition.

If they did not pay you for any of the web development work you did, then you are entitled to sue if they use your project plan or designs.

Alternatively you can claim for the hours you put in through small claims court but of course you need to submit your itemised time sheets to them first and give them an opportunity to pay.

But you cannot have it both ways. If they pay, the designs belong to them, if they don’t pay, the designs are yours. Be clear about what you are asking for or you will get nowhere.

You say you have years of IT experience and paralegal training, I am surprised that you do not know something so obvious.

I do not have any certifications but I have some limited knowledge about Search Engine Marketing (SEM) working in a marketing job. I want to learn how to actually get a position where I either sell the services and/or set it up for the business. Also, where do I get the training to do this?

As the dfather of the marketing Philips Kotlor told in 1992 that the world will be services oriented after 2000 as there is no problem in productions as comnputer are there what now we have to find out the ways only for selling and positioning of the goods. So now all the four Ps in the marketing except production are r equired SEM that price, placing, and promotion.

SEO key word reasearch is obviously vital for getting good traffic. there is an abundance of information and personal opinions around. i am looking for a definitive guide to help me and my staff to focus and use some of the best techniques for SEO work as well as to understand how the research should be carried out. I am looking to explain competition results to my customers and how to do this analysis.
does anyone have a really good comprehensive course?

You will only get to a level playing field with a so called "Guide to SEO"

The basics of SEO can be found easily by searching for something like "basics of seo" on Google and by reading some of the top SEO forums like www.seroundtable.com or www.searchengineland.com.

The problem with SEO is there are basic points that you should do that get you to a level playing field with say about 500 to 1000 other competitiors for a set of phrases.

Only about 30 of those 500 to 1000 can really get any visibility. So what is the value of being the 100 position in a search engine … None.

You need out of the box thinking and solutions to get you to the top of the 500 to 1000 people already doing basic seo.

You need to go ahead and get going on the basics but don’t expect to find yourself in the top of the search engines cause you changed your title tag and put a link or two in some directory.

Cheers.
